Advantage in AWTE tie-up

A commercial tie-up has been forged between Advantage Travel Centres and the Association of Women Travel Executives.

Advantage members will have access to AWTE benefits, including entrepreneurs forum and director development progression seminars.

They will also be able to attend AWTE networking events at member rates.

AWTE will have its first presence at the Advantage Conference in September.

Advantage managing director John McEwan said: "We wish to be seen to be offering our members every opportunity possible to sustain or develop their business, especially in this economic climate.

"The focus on personal development by AWTE allows participation without pressure or intimidation, and with the added value of getting members used to networking in senior circles."

AWTE chair Tricia Handley said: "This is a win-win situation; it supports the ethos of AWTE by providing opportunities for women in business through access to new initiatives.

"I also believe that many of our members in senior roles can learn from travel agents and the challenges they face at shop floor level, creating empathy on both sides."
