Agents urged to push UK resorts this summer

Travel agents have been encouraged to push sales of holidays to UK seaside resorts this summer.

The call came from short break operator Superbreak which expects demand for coastal towns to increase for summer.

Sales to key resorts last month were up year on year by 81% to Blackpool, 68% to Bournemouth and 26% to Brighton.

The operator has put together a range of two night deals that include dinner on one or both nights.

National sales manager Graham Balmforth said: "With the summer fast approaching, now is the time for agents to act and push UK resorts.

"In the current climate there is much discussion about people choosing to holiday at home this year and with a long sunny summer predicted we believe that UK coastal resorts will do well."
