AUCKLAND - Tourism Holdings Ltd (THL) has frozen base wages and salaries for all staff in light of the current economic climate.
CEO Grant Webster said, ââ¬ÅâThe near term impacts on the tourism sector have been well publicised. The coming summer is, at best, showing no indication of being any better than the last.ââ¬~
THL is currently working with union members to ratify the proposals which would see all existing terms and conditions remain static for the coming 12 months. Staff on individual agreements will not receive a review of their base wage or salary rate.
Webster added, ââ¬ÅâOur crew are important to us and I need to
acknowledge the way in which they are working with the company and helping us ensure we are effectively positioned for the market recovery.ââ¬~
THL is the largest provider of holiday rental vehicles in Australia and New Zealand under the Maui, Britz, Backpacker and Explore More Brands.
It also operates Kiwi Experience and the Discover Waitomo group in New Zealand and Tourist Transport Fiji, Feejee Experience and Great Sights in Fiji.
