APT adds Indochina

SYDNEY - The APT China & Vietnam 2010 brochure Ã¢â¬' covering October 2009-October 2010 season - has four China tours and three Vietnam tours, one of which links with Cambodia and one with Laos and Cambodia.

Discounts of up to $1000 a couple and up to $800 a couple are available on Vietnam and China bookings respectively, made before September 30 this year.

APT general manager marketing, Michelle Cox said,
Ã¢â¬ÅâœTypically, weÃ¢â¬â¢re providing professional tour directors and experienced local guides when visiting the essential key sites and using the best available hotels and river cruise ships.Ã¢â¬~

Cruises, hotels, most meals, local flights, coach touring, and tipping are included in prices.

For the seven-night Mekong cruise featured in two itineraries, APT is using the air conditioned 46-cabin MS La Marguerite currently under construction for October 12 launch this year.

Facilities include English-speaking staff, private balconies in most cabins, restaurant and sun deck bar, two lounges, spa, outdoor whirlpool and beauty salon, library and fitness room.

In China, for Yangtze cruises which feature in each package, APT is using Victoria Jenna, launched this year.

Two of the China tours conclude in Hong Kong where accommodation is at the Langham Hotel.

A farewell dinner is at Top Deck, a restaurant and bar on the top floor of Hong Kong's legendary Jumbo Floating Restaurant.

One of those tours also includes three days in Tibet.

Lead-in China tour is the 13-day Imperial China package (from A$5995 per person win share) which includes The Forbidden City in Beijing, the Great Wall at Badaling, four-night Yangtze cruise, the Terracotta Warriors at XiÃ¢â¬â¢an, Suzhou and Shanghai.

Lead-in Vietnam tour is the 22-day Vietnam and Riches of the Mekong tour (from A$8195) which includes Ho Chi Minh City then on to Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi and Ha Long Bay cruise before flying to Siem Reap in Cambodia for a seven-night Mekong cruise to Ho Chi Minh City.
