Long-haul travel agent Miles Travel has failed due to lack of business.
Managing director Richard Loosley blamed the economic downturn on his decision to close the agency in Cranbrook, Kent.
The agency, which had two other staff, had been operating since 1968.
Miles Travel was an ABTA member until the end of last month and also an AITO Specialist Travel Agent.
It specialised in travel to Canada and North America, the Middle East, India, Australasia, Far East and China.
Any retail claims arising from the failure will be handled by CEGA, ABTA's claims handling partner on tel 01243 621500.

As a Cranbrook resident, who happens to also work for a local Tour Operator, I'm extremely sad to hear the news about Miles Travel. They have been a prominent and professional presence on our High Street for as long as I can remember and I will be very sorry to see the doors close. I wish Richard and his staff all the best in the future. Clare Hilson - Sunspot Tours Ltd / Mercury Direct (Cranbrook)
