Air China launches direct Beijing - Lhasa flights

BEIJING ââ¬' From today, Air China will be the first airline to offer passengers direct flights between Beijing and Lhasa.

Flight times will be cut by two hours to three hours 50 mins as the new route will not go via Chengdu, allowing passengers to avoid time-consuming transit procedures.

Air China will use wide-body Airbus A330 for the new direct Beijing - Lhasa route, departing from Beijing Capital Airport at 7:00am and arrive at Gonggar Airport in Lhasa at 10:50am.

To maximise safety of the flights, Required Navigation Performance (RNP), an improved method of implementing routes and flight paths, is applied on the route..
