Operator expands with dedicated Africa brochure
A strong recovery by Kenya after last yearââ¬â¢s riots dampened demand has led long haul operator to release a dedicated Africa brochure.Ã~
The company also expects heightened interest in South Africa due to the 2010 World Cup.
Ã~
The 52-page Africa Collection goes on sale today (July 14) and includes a wider range than has previously been featured in the operatorââ¬â¢s Worldwide Collection brochure to Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa, including new programmes to Mozambique, Botswana and Zambia.
Ã~
The brochure is valid for bookings from September 2009 until January 2011.
Ã~
Prices start at Ãpound;779 per person for a five night all inclusive package at the four-star Voyager Beach Resort in Mombasa, including return flights from Heathrow and transfers in November 2009.
Ã~
An expanded safari and beach programme to Kenya, includesÃ~ exclusive four day fly-in safaris to three camps: Governorsââ¬â¢ Camp in the Masai Mara, Elsaââ¬â¢s Kopje in Meru National Park, and Tortilis Camp in the Amboseli National Park. Prices start at Ãpound;879 per person.Ã~
Ã~
Short safaris, suitable as combinations with Mombasa beach holidays, are also included and lead in at Ãpound;349 for a three-day ââ¬Ëtasterââ¬â¢ Ziwani Safari.
Ã~
More four and five-star beach resorts have been added along the Mombasa coastline including the Pinewood Village boutique hotel at Galu Beach, Hemingways inside the Watamu Marine Park, and Baobab Beach Resort on South Diani Beach, where five nights all-inclusive accommodation including flights starts at Ãpound;909.
The adults-only Cove Retreat, which doubles up as a honeymoon location and eco-tourism option, is also featured.
Ã~
Programme director Lesley Rollo said: ââ¬ÅâOur bookings for Kenya are now three times the level of last year, which means that the destination has almost totally recovered to 2007 levels.Ã~
Ã~
ââ¬ÅâThis comes on the back of some clever tactical manoeuvring by hotels and airlines which meant that we have been to offer great value holidays for agents to pass on to their customers this year.Ã~
Ã~
ââ¬ÅâNow the time is right to lift the programme to Kenya with more varied beach accommodation and a greater range of safaris, long and short, and the dedicated brochure gives us the perfect opportunity to spotlight the new additions.ââ¬~
Ã~
New Cape Town additions include The Bay, opposite Camps Bay (one night starting at Ãpound;63 per person), boutique hotel Four Rosmead on the slopes of Table Mountain (one night from Ãpound;64) and the five star Cape Royal near the V& A Waterfront (one night from Ãpound;101).
Ã~
A greater focus on the Kruger National Park and bordering areas sees the introduction of new game lodges including Tanda Tula Safari Camp in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve.
Ã~
Botswana, Mozambique and Zambia ââ¬' intended as extensions to stays in South Africa ââ¬' have also been brought into the programme.
