SYDNEY - Insight Vacations has reported that its 2010 Oberammergau programme is on the way to selling out, with a recent surge in bookings attributed to the addition of its Definite Departure allocation on its website.
Lorraine Sharp, managing director, Insight Vacations, said, ââ¬ÅâTraditionally, tickets for the Oberammergau Passion Play Performance, which occurs only once every 10 years, sell out many months, sometimes even two years, in advance.
ââ¬ÅâThe economic climate over the past year has definitely had an effect on the performance of the 2010 programme, with sales slightly slower than in previous decades.
ââ¬ÅâHowever, weââ¬â¢ve seen an incredible resurgence since the introduction of our online Definite Departure system.
ââ¬ÅâCurrently, more than half of the total programme has been allocated as a Definite Departure, with some itineraries already achieving over 60 per cent of departures confirmed.
ââ¬ÅâAll itineraries are reviewed on a weekly basis, with more Definite Departures added on a rolling basis,ââ¬~ she said.
