New Norway route from Ryanair

A twice-daily service from Stansted to Oslo Rygge airport is to be started by Ryanair on October 1.

Rygge, 50kms south of Oslo, is the 147th airport in the airline’s network.

Ryanair expects to carry 200,000 passengers on the route in the first year.

The airline’s Laura McCormack said: "The demand for low cost fares to Scandinavian destinations has grown significantly with the high fares and capacity reductions of BA and SAS.

"Ryanair will continue to expand and exceed failing flag carriers by offering our UK customers the guaranteed lowest fares and even more exciting destinations."

The carrier has released one million fares for £1 for travel across its European network in September and October which must be booked by midnight tomorrow (Friday).
