Here’s a novel marketing idea from a hotel in San Diego, Calif: charge for each amenity.
That means the luxury Rancho Bernardo Inn is offering rooms for $19 a night if you’re willing to give up breakfast, air conditioning, lights, sheets and even a bed. You can sleep in a tent. The hotel staff will remove the mattress and headboard and provide the tent.
"Oh, and bring your own toilet paper," advises the AP.
General manager John Gates says the hotel hopes people who try the "Survivor’s Package" promotion will return at full price.
The offer is good through the end of the month.
