SYDNEY - Garuda Indonesia has appointed ICON International Communications as its regional public relations partner for Australia and South East Asia. ââ¬~¨Ã¢â¬~¨
As part of the appointment, ICONââ¬â¢s Sydney and Singapore offices will manage all media, analyst and industry relations across the region covering Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The agencyââ¬â¢s Australian arm will also undertake a comprehensive audit of the airlineââ¬â¢s crisis communication procedures in Australia, as well as a review of internal communication protocols and standards. ââ¬~¨Ã¢â¬~¨
Chris Gray, managing director of ICONââ¬â¢s Australian operations, said the appointment comes at a time of significant change for Garuda Indonesia.
ââ¬ÅâThe next 12-18 months look like being an exciting period for the company as it seeks to stamp itself as a leading regional and international airline.ââ¬~
Garudaââ¬â¢s latest annual results showed a net profit of ââ¬~¨USD65.2 million. The carrier has also unveiled a refreshed corporate livery and taken delivery of the first of a new fleet of Airbus A330 wide-bodied aircraft.
