The Barbados Tourism Authority has launched an online initiative to reward travel industry staff.
Called the Bajan Ambassadors Club, the online portal allows agents to search for the best hotel deals from 50 industry partners.
Club members can benefit immediately after they have registered, with the first ‘reward’ of £100 off accommodation per person in Barbados for stays of seven nights or more, applicable to one member and a partner.
Key tour operators currently in the scheme include Caribbean Unpackaged, Janet Smith Tours, Touchdown Holidays and Travel Industry Services.
Petra Roach, vice-president marketing Europe at the Barbados Tourism Authority, said: "Barbados remains one of the most popular holiday destinations for the travel industry community, who have been a tremendous support to the BTA over the years.
"To thank them, the new Bajan Ambassadors Club will reward members, their family and friends with some amazing offers and we invite them to become ‘ambassadors’ for Barbados simply by taking advantage of the fantastic savings on offer now and in the coming months."
Bajan Ambassadors can also make use of a Barbados Gourmet Card (www.barbadosgourmetcard.com), offering a 25% discount off food at participating restaurants on the island, and the Barbados VIP Card www.barbadosvipcard.com, offering savings on a number of attractions and tours as well as car rentals.
Both cards are valid until December 14 2009.
