HONG KONG - Travelport GDS, which operates both the Galileo and Worldspan platforms, has appointed Michael Yates as marketing director, Asia Pacific.
Yates will join Travelport in Hong Kong on September 1, and will report to Tina Iglio, vice president of marketing.
Iglio said Yatesââ¬â¢s appointment would be ââ¬Åâcentral to creating local strategies that support the rollout of new products and servicesââ¬~.
Yates said while Travelport technology platforms, such as Galileo, were well established and successful throughout much of the Asia Pacific region, there was an opportunity to further synergise the Travelport brands ââ¬Åâand clearly communicate the benefits of Travelportââ¬â¢s many products and services to our partners and customers across the regionââ¬~.
Most recently, Yates was vice president for operations of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), based in Bangkok.
