Intrepid back to East Timor

MELBOURNE - Intrepid Travel will again operate trips to Timor-Leste in 2010 after a four-year hiatus.

The move has been welcomed by the countryÃ¢â¬â¢s president, Jose Ramos-Horta.

Co-founder and CEO of Intrepid Travel, Darrell Wade said, "Timor-Leste is a close neighbour and we feel it is important to support the Timorese people in their efforts to grow their economy.

The average customer rating for the trips Intrepid Travel previously ran in Timor-Leste was 4.8 out of 5. This rating comes from the passenger feedback at the end of the trip.

East Timor trip highlights include Balibo, a guided city tour of Dili and its markets, a trek to Mt Ramelau, lush rainforest around Suai, a stop at Atauro Island to support the local community, and a visit to Manututo where former Timor-Leste president Gusmao was born.

The small group adventure is 15 days in duration and priced from A$1740 plus local payment (or a total price of approximately AU $1979 subject to exchange rate fluctuations).
