For some reason, the price of $49 has been the key number for many recent offers from air, land and sea travel providers.
American Airlines at AA.com, for example, is offering LA to San Francisco and Minneapolis flights to Chicago from $49, one way. Tickets must be booked on AA.com at least two weeks prior to departure and there are other stipulations. Fares are valid through Sept. 9 to Jan. 7.
The Baymont Inn and Suites in Wilmington, NC, is among hotels offering $49 for all room types from king non-smoking to doubles non-smoking. Smoking rooms are also available. The offer is good through Sept. 2
CheapCaribbean.com is offering discounted all-inclusive packages throughout the Caribbean for fall and early-winter travel, starting at $49 double…ooops, make that $499. But still a bargain.
Packages include airfare and lodging, meals, drinks, activities, tips, some taxes and fees, hurricane and weather insurance, and a $100 travel credit if it rains.
Participants be warned, however, there are various small print requirements on all offers.
