Travel a right, say young people

Young people view travel as a right and not a luxury, according to MTV youth culture and trends site MTVsticky.

The site reports research suggesting many young people see holidays as a necessity, especially in a recession. Another finding: young people are more interested in traditional leisure holidays than in volunteering or so-called eco-travel.

MTVsticky publishes research on youth trends for advertisers targeting the youth market across all sectors. Advertisers can sign up to a newsletter and RSS feeds to access information.

Helen Rose, director of insight at MTV Networks International, said:

"These trends are relevant to any business."

MTsticky works with a number of travel partners, including the Greek National Tourism Organization and budget travel specialist Shoestring.
