More Scottish sun routes planned

Flights to Dubrovnik and Faro are being introduced for next summer from Edinburgh by budget airline Jet2.com.

Fares for the weekly flights to the Croatian city, which begin on May 2, start at £49.99 one way including taxes.

Faro flights start on May 20 with fares leading in at £34.99 one-way including taxes.

Holidays will be available through sister tour operation Jet2holidays.com to the Algarve and Dubrovnik, bookable with a low deposit of £30 per person.

The additional services will bring the airline’s network from the Scottish capital up to ten routes for summer 2010.

Edinburgh airport managing director Gordon Dewar said: "Despite the recession, the capital continues to attract new business and leisure destinations and this latest round of expansion from Jet2.com, now one of our biggest airlines in terms of destinations served, underlines the airline's continued confidence in Edinburgh Airport.

"With a major investment programme now underway, Edinburgh Airport is well placed to emerge from the recession stronger than ever."
