Iceland Express is bringing back flights from Reykjavik’s Keflavik International Airport to New York Newark from June 2010.
The flights will operate four times a week on a Boeing 757 and will connect with those operating from London Gatwick to Reykjavik, starting at £69 one-way including taxes.
"Iceland Express continues to grow for our UK customers, from our recent introduction of Akureyri as a second Icelandic destination point, to now offering a low-cost alternative to traditional flights to New York," says CEO Matthias Imsland.
"In the past, a flight to New York via Iceland was one of the cheapest ways to visit the Big Apple. By bringing back this option to the UK market, we hope to entice more consumers to choose Iceland Express, whether they want to discover the glacial beauty and vibrant culture of Iceland, or take a low-cost trip to New York."
Bookings on the Reykjavik to New York flights can be made starting early next week.
Iceland Express has recently re-launched its operation from London Stansted and will be commencing flights from Birmingham International Airport to Reykjavik and London Gatwick to Akureyri in summer 2010.
