Ex-dating site boss joins Skyscanner

 

 
 
 
Travel search site Skyscanner has recruited former match.com managing director Jason Stockwood as a non-executive director.
 
He is to provide input and insight to the company’s development of a global market-leading brand.

Before joining match.com, Stockwood was with Travelocity, and previously lastminute.com, Trailfinders and Lufthansa.

He announced his departure from the leading dating site last week.
 
In the last two years Stockwood has grown the company through marketing campaigns including the ‘Don’t Wait for Cupid’ and ‘Too Many Women’ TV adverts.
 
Skyscanner CEO Gareth Williams said: "As well as leading one of the most successful online companies that we’ve seen in recent years, Jason has great insight into the online travel sector. 
 
"He has built this leading global brand from a UK base, and so has encountered many of the issues Skyscanner faces as we work on becoming the world’s number one travel site. 
 
"We’re delighted that we are going to have the benefit of that experience as we continue our growth in international markets and build on our success to date."

Stockwood said: "Skyscanner is already profitable and growing fast, and has huge potential to build an explosive global brand over the next couple of years."
