Budget carrier in major Manchester push

Jet2.com aims to be the largest scheduled leisure carrier from Manchester airport next summer with the addition of four new routes.

Dubrovnik, Split, Reus on the Costa Dorada and Prague have been added to the network for summer 2010.

The northern budget carrier will now serve nine new destinations next year, taking the total routes from Manchester up to 28.

Aircraft at the North West base will be increased to fly the new routes with 140,000 extra seats for summer 2010, up 20% on this year. This gives a total of one million seats a year available from Manchester.

Dubrovnik will be served wice a week from April 29 with fares starting at £49.99 one way including taxes.

Split will also have two flights a week from May 8 with identical prices.
Reus will have two flights a week starting from May 25 with fares leading in at £29.99 one way.
Prague fares start at £19.99 with four flights a week from April 1.
The airline’s chief executive Philip Meeson said Jet2.com was "bucking the trend of other airlines" by significantly increasing services across its bases.

"Our continued investment will see us increase our fleet at Manchester quite significantly and create hundreds of new jobs both at the airport and within the tourism industry as a whole," he said.
