Drew Foster passes away

The chairman of luxury travel group International Travel Connections Drew Foster has lost his battle against cancer.

He died at home in Cheshire on Thursday aged 65.

ITC Classics, ITC Sports, Deva Travel, Caribbean Connection, Mauritius Connection and Complete Caribbean were companies established by Foster.

Jennifer Atkinson continues in her role as CEO of the above companies and will continue to run business as usual.

Independent company ITC recently celebrated its 35th anniversary and Foster had overseen the purchase of Horse Racing Abroad which was incorporated into ITC Sports, an area of the travel business he grew increasingly passionate about.

Atkinson said: "It is with great sadness that I confirm our charismatic Chairman Drew Foster died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday 15th October 2009.

"He was surrounded by his beloved family and passed away at home in Christleton, Cheshire.

"Drew had been suffering from cancer for several months. I along with my colleagues at ITC Classics will miss him greatly.

"There is no doubt that there will be a gap in the travel industry with Drew’s passing. He was a gentleman who loved life more than most and whose honest and generous nature won him many friends.

  • A sad loss to the travel Industry..

Many moons ago, I travelled on my first long-haul fam trip with Caribbean Connection and met Drew in Barbados. A lovely man...my thoughts go out to his family at this sad time.

May I add my sincere condolences to Drew's family and colleagues. He lit up the travel industry and was loved and revered all over the Caribbean, and by us, his friends in the UK travel business. We shall not see his like again, and will mourn most sincerely his untimely passing. Good night and God Bless. Christine Blocksidge.
