Herbert leaves Travel Buddy

Travel Buddy marketing and sales director Neil Herbert is to leave the mobile communications solutions company after two years.

He is expected to take up a new role next month, with an announcement "imminent".

Travel Buddy provides location based information to travellers relevant to their dates of travel and destination, as well as providing text message advice and support for customers of travel companies such as Monarch, Flythomascook, Thomson, First Choice and The Co-operative Travel.

Herbert said: "I have enjoyed my time helping to launch the Travel Buddy concept into the UK travel trade.

"There is growing interest in the product, especially with the recent launch of ‘ABTA Travel Buddy’ in conjunction with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, at the Travel Convention in Barcelona.

"There is certainly a big future for mobile technology in travel and I am convinced that utilisation of the Travel Buddy solution and the ABTA Travel Buddy product will continue to grow under the leadership of Adam Winterflood, the managing director and his team and I wish them well.

"I am due to start a new, exciting role in November and an announcement on the new position is imminent."
