Worldââ¬â¢s largest cruise ship to appear off Southampton

Oasis of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship, is to make a technical stop off Southampton today (Monday).

The 5,400-passenger mega ship will be en route from its shipyard in Finland to Florida where it is due to be formally named on November 30.

The vessel will sail into The Solent for the brief stop sometime in the afternoon to let off 300 workers who do not need to be on board for the full transatlantic crossing.

"This short stop is normal practice for a new ship and there will be no onboard access provided for the duration of her stay in The Solent," the company said.
