Agents targeted for hotel commissions deal

A dedicated leisure agent affiliate programme offering commission of up to 6.5% on hotel bookings is being unveiled by hotel portal HRS.com.

Agents will be offered a commission scale starting at 5% from the first booking, and running up to 6.5% depending on the number of hotels booked.

The company is running a series of workshops at next week’s World Travel Market to highlight the programme.

Agents signing up at WTM will gain a commission rate of 6% until March 2010. Agents who sign up after WTM will begin on a 5% rate.

The sliding commission scale offers agents the opportunity to build their ranking, earning higher commission as they secure increased hotel bookings.

The scale works on a rolling basis and offers 5% commission to agents who have secured between one and 50 hotels, 5.5% commission for those securing between 51 and 100 hotels, 6% commission for 101-150 hotels and 6.5% for 150 or more hotels.

Six workshops will be available across the four days of WTM on Monday at 14.00 and 16.00 and on Tuesday at 10.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 16.00.

Commercial director Jon West said: "Our competitive commission scale offers the best available rates.

"The affiliate programme provides agents with a simple, cost effective way to build their bottom line."

An outdoor advertising campaign around London Docklands will also be launched at WTM with a focus on the areas in and around London City Airport, ExCel and Canary Wharf and will feature a mix of outdoor sheet, DLR tube panel and online executions.
