Amadeus clinches Irish agency deals

Lee Travel, Limerick Travel, and Travelpaths in Ireland are switching to Amadeus from competitor GDS providers.

Heffernan’s, a long-standing customer of Amadeus, has also re-signed a long term deal over reservations systems of rival suppliers.

Declan O’Connell, owner of Lee Travel, said: "It’s always a difficult decision on whether to migrate to a new system as the GDS is at the heart of everything we do.

"However, with the proven success that Amadeus has had with past migrations, we knew that this was right for the business in the long-term."

Limerick Travel owner Tony Brazil said: "The local support that Amadeus provides in Ireland really sets them apart from the competition. Their technology is incredibly good, and we know that with their investment in the region, we have a long term partner we can work with."

Amadeus Ireland general manager Volker Lorenz said: "We have built up a lot of momentum again in the last few months.

"The size, scale, and stature of these clients - new and existing - is testament to our approach in ensuring we meet our meet our clients' needs in every respect.

"Our Q4 success is not only testament to the continually evolving technology that we provide to our customers, but also to our local relationships and customer support here in Ireland.

"We've invested a lot of time and money building our team and we believe it is both - our cutting-edge technology and our unique presence in Ireland - which have really been crucial to consolidating our position."
