Orbitz says its enhancement of its Low Price Guarantee offers "ironclad confidence" users are getting the lowest possible hotel rate.
"Under the new program, customers who find their prepaid hotel room available for a lower price on any site, including Orbitz, can receive a refund for the difference and a $50 discount on a future hotel or vacation package booking," the company says.
In addition, Orbitz now allows customers to submit a claim right up to the time of the property’s cancellation deadline.
In addition to the enhanced Orbitz Low Price Guarantee, customers are also covered by Orbitz’s Hotel Price Assurance. Under that program, Orbitz will send a cash refund automatically if another Orbitz customer books the same prepaid hotel room for less.
Orbitz says this combination provides the strongest price protection of any online travel company.
"These programs give travelers an unprecedented level of confidence that Orbitz delivers the lowest hotel rates," said Barney Harford, President and CEO of Orbitz Worldwide.
