Resorts World puts on a show for events

SINGAPORE - Ahead of its early 2010 soft opening, Resorts World Sentosa has confirmed 30 event bookings, with the largest ââ¬' the prestigious 11th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention from October 5-7, 2011 - expecting to attract 4,000 of the top business leaders from around the world.

Resorts World Sentosa, which includes Southeast Asiaââ¬â¢s only Universal Studios theme park, is currently fielding more than 150 leads, with expressions of interest for events up to 2014.

The integrated resort also offers the worldââ¬â¢s largest Marine Life Park, six hotels, a casino with a variety of Las Vegas-styled entertainment, restaurants by celebrity chefs and retail shops.

Resorts World Convention Centre has 26 function rooms and the Compass Ballroom, one of Asiaââ¬â¢s largest column-free ballrooms that seats 7,300.

ââ¬ÅâœThese events ââ¬' some of which are firsts in Singapore ââ¬' signify growth in the MICE industry, and shows the confidence organisers have in the 49-hectare Resortââ¬â¢s MICE offerings as a solution for companies looking for venues that provide both impact and bang for the buck,ââ¬~ said Elena Arabadjieva, director of MICE, Resorts World Sentosa.

ââ¬ÅâœAs the worldââ¬â¢s economy recovers, we are getting strong interest from organisers for events from 2010 to as far ahead as 2014 and that gives us great confidence in Singaporeââ¬â¢s meetings and incentive travel sector in the mid to long term," Ms Arabadjieva added.
