Celebrity Cruises passengers has started a new wrinkle for thirsty cruisers: the offer to buy unlimited beer and liquor packages.
This is a departure "from the typical cruise line a la carte bar policies," says The Cruise Log
The packages should be available by the end of this year.
"Most major cruise lines offer some unlimited soda options, as well as wine packages. But outside of the all-inclusive luxury realm, cruise lines have generally stayed away from offering all-you-can-drink options except for some groups and special functions," according to Cruise Log
The unlimited Beer Package starts at US$34.50 per night, and gives passengers unlimited consumption of domestic and imported beers.
The Classic Liquor Package, at US$51.50 per night, includes middle-shelf liquors such as Johnnie Walker Red and Absolut Vodka, while a Premium Liquor Package, at US$76 per night, includes top-shelf spirits like Johnnie Walker Black Label and Grey Goose vodka.
A frozen drink package, including piña coladas, daiquiris, and margaritas, starts from $22.00 per night.
