Brussels has become a new hub for the Star Alliance with Brussels Airlines signing up as the latest member.

The move adds four new destinations in Africa to the global airline grouping’s network - Bujumbura, Burundi; Conakry, Guinea; Kigali, Ruanda and Monrovia, Liberia.

Brussels Airlines, which serves 55 European airports and 14 in Africa, becomes the 11th member of the alliance.

The Star Alliance now offers more than 19,700 daily flights covering 1,077 destinations in 175 countries.
