EasyJet details weather problems

EasyJet flights were being affected today with Inverness Airport shut and delays of up to an hour at Gatwick

Seven of 10 aircraft based at Bristol were diverted to alternative airports yesterday evening while the airport was closed. As a result of the closure, further cancellations may occur at Bristol today, the airline said.

The disruption has been further exacerbated by French aviation authorities imposing flight restrictions at Paris Charles De Gaulle.

"Therefore we are experiencing more delays and cancellations from Paris than we would have hoped for," and airline spokesman said.

"As a result of significant snowfall across the UK and parts of Europe, "EasyJet, like many airlines, is experiencing continued disruption today."

The airline is stressing to passengers to check the easyJet.com website to ensure their flight is not cancelled before going to the airport.

"Passengers should be aware, given this is a busy time of year, there is little availabilty over the next few days, so passengers whose flights have been cancelled today may not be able to transfer on to flights for a few days," the airline said.

"However, going to the airport to make alternative arrangements is not reccommended as the airports particularly Bristol, Gatwick, Madrid and Paris Charles De Gaulle are very busy."
