Hotel rooms for £1 in January sale

Hotel rooms for a bargain basement charge of £1 a night are being offered in January.
The Umi hotels in London and Brighton are offering the rate plus VAT on a first come, first served basis.
Each of the two hotels has one room per day that can be booked at the £1 rate, inclusive of breakfast. This means there are 62 rooms available in total.
The three star properties include a concierge, 24 hour bar and breakfast served until midday.
Additionally, visitors to and can submit their email address for a chance to hire a conference room for £1 +VAT per person, inclusive of a light lunch, hot drinks and a full day room hire for up to 25 people.
The name will be picked at random and chosen on January 5, for room use on January 18.
Umi owner Steve Lowy said: “We ran a similar promotion last year and it was incredibly successful – the sale gives us a chance to introduce Umi to new customers and by adding the conference promotion, allows to help all sorts of people visiting London or Brighton to beat those January blues.
“It is a simple offer, there are no catches and allows a lot of people to grab a bargain in January in a time where it can be all get a bit depressing.”
