US Iranian visitors join ââ¬Åâœwatch listââ¬~

Going to Iran? Plan on being fingerprinted and go through more intense screening.
 

Iran is reacting to the US’s new travel rules for 14 countries seen as special risks, says governing official Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
 

The move is in response to the US’s new security directive calling for "every individual" flying into the US from anywhere in the world to be subject to "enhanced screening" if traveling through or from 14 nations on a new "watch list."
 

They include nations the US considers "state sponsors of terrorism" - Cuba, Syria, Sudan and Iran - and 10 "countries of interest" including Afghanistan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Nigeria.
 

This is not entirely new.
 

A few years ago, Tehran decided to fingerprint US citizens visiting Iran in response to the US decision to fingerprint Iranians entering the United States, Boroujerdi told reporters.
 

And the new US decision will compel Iran to respond in kind, he said.
 

From now on, all US citizens who intend to enter Iran will be fingerprinted and they will also be screened.
