Cruise agency develops iPhone ship ââ¬Ëœappââ¬â¢

An Apple iPhone application featuring Celebrity Cruises ships has been developed by leading independent cruise agency Gill’s Cruise Centre.

The app contains ship deck plans and other company information. Other information to be added will include cruise itineraries and news.

Gill’s plans to develop more apps for other cruise lines.

The agency’s chairman Alistair Gill said: "In 2009 Gill's Cruise Centre was the number one independent cruise specialist for Celebrity Cruises in the UK.

"We work very closely with the cruise line and it is because of this great partnership we are launching an innovative new tool for cruise passengers, an iPhone application.

"This first of its kind 'app' will help passengers find their way around ships because it features every deck plan of every ship in the Celebrity Cruises' fleet.

"It comes at a great time because Celebrity Cruises is deploying the new Celebrity Eclipse in Southampton this summer, so passengers with this iPhone app will never get lost exploring the brand new ship."
