Eye for Innovation at Singapore summit

SINGAPORE - Top of the agenda for EyeforTravelââ¬â¢s Travel Distribution Summit Asia, taking place in Singapore April 28-29, is an analysis of how the Asian travel industry can prepare for recovery.

ââ¬ÅâœAfter a tough year, the key to rebuilding the foundations of a recovering market will be innovation and a clear understanding of how new technologies will drive future change and create lucrative opportunities for online travel,ââ¬~ said event director, Marco Saio.

Heading up the debate will be Timothy Hughes, VP of Orbitz, Hotelclub and founder of the Business of Online Travel, and Mark Inkster, GM Microsoft Online Services Group Asia.

They will be joined by Googleââ¬â¢s managing director of travel, Rob Torres, who will share his visions for the future of online travel.

Robert Bailey, president & CEO of Abacus International; Azran Osman-Rani, CEO Air Asia X, and PATA's numbers man, John Koldowski, will present the new trends, key issues and challenges that will shape the industry in 2010 and beyond.

Saio added, "Itââ¬â¢s been a tough year for the Asian travel market. The industry playing field has changed dramatically.

ââ¬ÅâœWeââ¬â¢re seeing now that those companies who intelligently prepare for the upturn will be those who reap the rewards.ââ¬~
