BA raises Balearics frequency

British Airways is adding more peak summer flights to Majorca and Ibiza from London City Airport less than a month after announcing the launch of the new routes.

The schedule is to increase from three to five flights a week to Palma and from three to four flights a week to Ibiza during July and August.

The new services to the Balearic Islands direct from the Docklands airport start in May using new Embraer 190 aircraft.

The initial three-times-a-week service will operate on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays.

The extra Majorca flights will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the extra Ibiza flights on Wednesdays.

The airline is also increasing frequency of flights to Edinburgh from London City, with seven flights a day from March 29.
