Blastland joins TravelMole staycation debate

TUI Travel mainstream UK and Ireland managing director Dermot Blastland has agreed to join TravelMole's staycation debate.
Blastland, an outspoken critic of the  so-called staycation, will be among the industry panel discussing UK tourism trends on March 25.
Domestic tourism verses overseas holidays is the theme of the debate under the title ‘Staycation - myth or reality for the travel trade’.
Leading UK tourism officials and domestic operators will line up to defend holidaying in the UK.
They will be pitched against top operators of foreign holidays for the event.
The venue for the debate will be Mircosoft’s UK headquarters at Cardinal Place, Victoria Street in London's Victoria between 16.15 and 18.30 including networking drinks.
A special demonstration from Mircosoft will form part of the event, which has been timed to run just days after British Tourism Week.
