Niche cruise line ups UK trade profile

Niche cruise company Orion Expedition Cruises has recruited a dedicated UK sales executive.

Natalie Read joins on March 15 as business development executive, reporting to UK sales and marketing director Andy Harmer.

She has previously held sales positions with Gold Medal Travel, Balkan Holidays, Bridge Travel and Thomas Cook Flight Savers.

Her responsibilities involve dealing with agents and operators and carrying out training to raise awareness of the company and ultimately increase sales.

Harmer said: "We are thrilled that Natalie is joining us at such an exciting time with the recent announcement of a second ship due in May 2011 and the launch of the 2011 programme.

"She brings a wealth of experience in dealing with tour operators and travel agents and has great knowledge of some of the incredible destinations that Orion and Orion II will be featuring.

"Natalie’s appointment clearly demonstrates Orion’s commitment to working with the UK trade and to providing agents and operators with the support they need."
