Trade press sales chief heads to WTM

Travel Trade Gazette UK sales director Deborah Dewe has been named as head of sales for World Travel Market.

She takes up a position made vacant when Simon Press was promoted to WTM exhibition director in January.

Dewe, who has been with the trade magazine for ten years including two as sales director, will report to Press when she starts on May 17.

She will be responsible for heading the WTM sales team and ensuring that sales are driven strategically according to the direction of the event.

She will be responsible for all revenue streams across Reed Travel Exhibition’s flagship event, held in London each November.

Press said Dewe : "brings with her a wealth of travel industry experience, knowledge and contacts which will help the event’s evolution as host venue ExCeL - London expands in 2010".
Dewe added: "I’m delighted to be joining World Travel Market and look forward to helping it cement its position as the premier global event for the travel industry."

She started her career in 1996 as a specialist travel consultant at Travelbag after completing a Diploma in Business and Travel at Hove College.

Dewe moved to Flightbookers as sales manager before leaving in 2000 to join TTG.
