Airports set to improve for passengers

Passengers should get a better deal at UK airports where unnecessary regulation will be scrapped, according to a new bill announced in the Queen’s Speech.

The new coalition government, which has already declared itself opposed to the expansion of Britain’s airports, also wants to get rid of the system that sets caps on what airlines should be charged to utilise airports.

The Airport Regulation Bill will also aim to make airports more competitive.

The Queen’s Speech also included mention of a high speed rail network but as yet no firm details have emerged.
