Ryanair's new peak season luggage fees come in today, pushing up the cost of checking in a bag from £15 each way to £20.
The higher fees will remain in force for the whole of July and August and apply to all Ryanair flights.
To soften the blow, the budget airline will allow passengers to pay £5 more to buy an additional 5kg, bringing their total luggage allowance to 20kg and the total cost to £25 each way.
Passengers who forget to check in online will be stung for an extra £40 per 15kg bag or £50 per 20kg bag checked in at the airport.
Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary will tell TV viewers this evening that he is still considering charging passengers to use onboard toilets and he is exploring the possibility of 'standing seats' on aircraft.
Speaking on 'Beat the Budget Airlines', to be shown on ITV at 7.30pm, O'Leary said safety tests of the £4 to £8 seats have been scheduled for next year.

Ryanair does what its says on the tin. O'Leary doesn't hide or obfuscate. If you go with only hand luggage, are flexible when you can travel and use a Mastercard like the FairFX card you get seriously cheap flights no one else can get near. If you live a long way from a major airport he has also opened up air travel for you that is easier, and still probably cheaper than travelling to a hub. If you aren't price sensitive and want a marginally better version of cattle class then shop around, but for goodness sake stop moaning!!

Ryanair consistently devalues the concept of customer service. O'Leary has done unmeasurable damage to a once reputable industry. I am just amazed anyone flies with this appalling company.
