Ministers to draw up industry plan at WTM Summit

Tourism bigwigs will put together a ‘Statement of Intent’ for the travel and tourism industry at this year’s World Travel Market.

For the first time, the UNWTO Ministers’ Summit, held during London’s WTM, will conclude by drawing up a plan for the future of the industry for the next 12 months.

Some 174 ministers and aides are expected to attend this year’s summit, called ‘Shaping a Stronger Travel and Tourism Industry - Governance and business models for the future’.

WTM chairman Fiona Jeffery said: "This year’s Statement of Intent, agreed by the largest ever meeting of tourism ministers, aides and leading private sector representatives makes the UNWTO Ministers’ Summit at WTM even more central to the future success of the travel industry."
