Emirates has appointed Barry Brown as its vice president for Australasia.
Prior to his new job, Brown - originally from Sydney - was employed as the chief commercial officer with Oman Air and before that he held similar positions with SriLankan Airlines and Hazelton Airlines in Australia.
Brown will oversee Emiratesââ¬â¢ third largest market,
The Dubai-based airline currently operates 70 flights a week between Australia and Dubai, from the four gateways of Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
It also operates 28 flights a week between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and two gateways in New Zealand - Auckland and Christchurch.
