WTM to unveil results of gay travel research

World Travel Market 2010 will unveil results from what it claims is the largest ever international survey into the travel and leisure patterns of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Analysis of the findings by gay marketing specialists Out Now will form the backbone of the WTM lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) seminar, organised and moderated by Out Now chief executive Ian Johnson.

The survey promises to reveal LGBT travel habits including preferred destinations, annual tourism spending, lifestyle leisure preferences, frequency of air travel, overall tourism expenditures, income and gay honeymoons.

Paul Clark, senior innovation manager of TUI Travel, which launched its first gay holidays programme this year, will be on the panel to comment on the findings.

World Travel Market chairman Fiona Jeffery said:  "Out Now and WTM have worked together for five years, promoting an understanding of the lesbian and gay tourism market development."
