Tourism Western Australia and Jetstar have struck a co-operative arrangement that will see the WA state government match the airlineââ¬â¢s marketing spend on advertising and promoting new Jetstar schedules to the state over the next three years.
From October 31, Jetstar will introduce another four weekly flights on each of the Melbourne-Perth and Sydney-Perth routes, up from 14 per week and seven per week respectively.
From December 10, Jetstar will also introduce a first-time daily flight from Brisbane to Perth, in addition to the launch of a daily service from the Gold Coast, starting April 2011.
WA tourism minister Liz Constable said the Memorandum of Understanding would deliver an additional 40,000 new visitors to the state per year, ââ¬Åâspending an estimated $39million a year over the next three yearsââ¬~.
