Chris Myers has been appointed Air New Zealand’s general manager for UK and Europe taking over from Scott Carr who has returned to Auckland to take up the role of general manager, New Zealand

Myers has been with the airline for 14 years and has held a number of roles from revenue management and marketing to online sales.  For the last four years he was general manager Japan and Korea

He will be responsible for all sales, marketing, airport operations and the cabin crew base in the UK.

"It’s a very exciting time to be with the airline here in the UK," said Myers. "April next year sees the introduction of our new B777-300 ER on our London-Los Angeles- Auckland route with our new revolutionary premium economy Spaceseat and the economy Skycouch.

"There is already strong interest in our new cabins and we are very confident that it will set us apart from our competitors.

"Next year is also a big year for New Zealand with rugby at the forefront providing a great opportunity to build interest and visitors to the country."
