And the money keeps rolling in


The Bali provincial administration contributed US$56.4 million from Visa on Arrival (VoA) revenue to Indonesia"s national coffers in 2011 - up from US$32.5m in 2009.

Ida Bagus Kade Subhiksu, head of the provincial tourism office, told Bali Daily that he was expecting that the revenue from VoAs would increase this year in line with the rising number of foreign tourists.

'¨'¨In 2011, Bali welcomed 2.75 million international tourists.

Since February 2010, most foreigners visiting Indonesia - apart from those arriving from Asean member countries - are required to pay a US$25 fee for a Visa on Arrival.'¨'¨
