Crystal Cruises revises policy to curb rebating

Crystal Cruises is revising its policy for clients who switch travel agents under deposit.

From January 1, if a Crystal client under deposit switches travel agents, the guest’s new agent will earn a maximum of 10% commission.

The policy will apply to clients booking directly through the original agent and to clients who book onboard.

"Here at Crystal Cruises we have taken yet another step toward curbing rebating activity in order to protect those travel agents who work hard to service their clients," says director of sales and marketing Sophie Higgins.

"We believe that guests should evaluate travel agents on service and not who is willing to buy them away from another agent with promises of discounts or rebates."
