Beaches Turks and Caicos goes Italian

Beaches Turks and Caicos opened its new Italian Village and Pirates Island Waterpark at a spectacular event at the weekend.
The ceremony also saw the new Italian Village awarded a six star classification from American Hospitality Association alongside a cherished six-star green award - one of only three hotels in the world to achieve this status.
The resort now boasts one of the most extensive ranges of restaurants (16), water sports, surf simulation, night clubs, six pools, child activities including the latest X-Box, lessons on how to become a scratch DJ and a comprehensive spa facility.
Based on Grace Bay, Provencales, the resort now attracts the entire range of holidaymakers from families with small children, teenagers, wedding couples and grandparents.
Beaches has access to a pure white sand beach and some of the clearest water in the Caribbean making any of the many water sports, including diving and diving school, a rewarding experience.
The formal opening ceremony came during an evening that contained speeches from most of the power house tourism politicians in the Caribbean, celebrities and members of the owning Stewart family.
An invited audience of over 400 containing leading agents, operators, media and celebrities were treated to a weekend of extravagant parties and entertainment culminating in the grand opening within the Italian Village itself.
