Barrhead aims high as it rides the cruise wave


Barrhead Travel is to ramp up its cruise business and has announced plans to increase turnover from the sector by 50% to £45 million next year.
The Scottish company says this can be achieved thanks to improved cruise selling technology, the best deals via partnerships with all leading cruise suppliers plus an increase in the volume of direct online bookings.
Barrhead has worked closely with technology company Traveltek recently, developing cruise features for the Isell system.
Managing director Jacqueline Dobson said: “Our long standing relationship with Traveltek has meant that we have been able to work together and develop these features in live situations, so we know that we have covered every known eventuality, and that the product delivers customer satisfaction and conversion time after time.
"We now have everything in place, from product to price, with easy-search technology, that will ensure that we reach our 2011 targets."
She added: “It makes complete sense for experienced cruise consultants or existing agency owners to speak to us about how they can benefit from these enhancements by becoming part of the Barrhead Travel Group, either as homeworkers or franchisees, as they'll have then have access to the best tools in the business to help to increase their cruise sales and more.”
