Liquidators are to be found within a fortnight to deal with defunct company HotelConnect shortly, ABTA has said.
The accommodation-only supplier failed on Tuesday. It had some 6000 forward bookings through the trade and 400 from its website.
The company was based in North London and has been trading since 1994. According to its website, it had grown into a company selling over 2,500 hotels in over 200 destinations.
HotelConnect-ªs site advises customers that those who had bookings with hotels will have to pay for their holiday again directly with the hotel. It also tells customers to reconfirm their booking directly.
